IPL Result, DC vs KKR: Kolkata Knight Riders win by 11 runs - Saturday, 13 March, 2010

Kolkata Knight Riders won the the opening match of the 2010 IPL by 11 runs beating Deccan Chargers at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai.

Deccan Chargers won the toss and invited Kolkata Knight Riders to bat. KKR made 161 for the loss of four wickets from twenty overs after being 0/2 in the first over of the match.

Owais Shah (58 off 46) and Angelo Mathews (65 off 46) helped KKR to reach a good total with unbeaten 130-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

In reply Deccan Chargers started good with VVS Laxman and Adam Gilchrist sharing a 61-run opening stand. Gilchrist smashed 54 runs including three fours and three sixes, while VVS Laxman made 22 off 14 balls.

Deccan Chargers were only able to make 150 runs for the loss of seven wickets from twenty overs.

Angelo Mathews was given the Man Of Match for his overall good performance with bat and ball.
